The great war between the Earth Federation and the Duchy of Zeon is almost over. At the neutral space colony of Libot, the Federation secretly constructs a powerful new Gundam mobile suit. In this colony, so far untouched by the conflict, a little boy named AL dreams of mobile suits and space battles... until a Zeon commando team descovers Libot's secret, and changes Al's life forever.

He makes friends with a Zeon officer who is there on a mission to destroy the Federation's secret new Gundam. Al finds himself torn between his new freindship with Bernie, the young Zeon pilot, and his friendship with Chris, his next door neighbor, who also happens to pilot the new Gundam. Bernie and Chris don't know it yet, but they'll have to fight against each other sooner or later, and the fate of an entire space colony full of people hangs in the balance.
